From the first February The new site is online Opificio delle Pietre Dure, Italy's first center for Restoration (surely the first time in order not to enter into the merits of other primates ...). The title of the post will perhaps startle some of you did in the hope that maybe the aforementioned "renewal" of staff, scientific and otherwise, who has the good fortune to work on masterpieces from every century and civilization, but so far no call active, but, dear readers, do not lose hope and consult from time to time, keeping your fingers crossed, the notices section of the site.
Another very interesting area is that of publications, particularly those who like us, is always looking for interesting news from the world of conservation science and restoration. The OPD public each year, a magazine, "OPD Restauro ", which reported the most significant and the results of research carried out in collaboration with various entities.
In this regard, on paper, a material that is close to my heart for the sake of doctorate, will soon present the first data of the "Project Digital Renaissance: Study of damage to the paper due to exposure to light," born in partnership with the Institute of Applied Physics "Nello Carrara", CNR, Florence .
Finally, who knew nothing of the glorious history of the Opificio, please read the introductory pages rich site, and the equally interesting relating to diagnostic and research that is completed in the laboratories of Way Alfani and Viale Strozzi.
Happy reading!
[15/02 update: Following the recommendation of the Webmaster of the new site I found the OPD 2 minutes (watch!) To complete the questionnaire accessible from the homepage. I invite you to do the same, why, I never tire of saying, the interaction between those who post, like me, or anyone who creates a site, the webmaster above and the users / readers is invaluable!]
